Wayne Achieves Five Distinctions
Wayne Luckhurst, who works at the Folkestone branch, has achieved superb results in his Plumbase training. He has gained a distinction in all the five MOL modules.
When Wayne joined the branch three years ago he had mostly retail experience but none in the plumbing and heating trade. The five training modules he has completed cover topics relevant to his work including customer service, health and safety, central heating, plumbers’ brassware and above ground soil. His studying was completed during lunch breaks and in his own time.
“The coursework has really helped me in my day to day dealings with customers,” says Wayne. “As this was my first time in the industry I feel confident I can give a really good level of service now. I know so much more about the products and what a customer needs for a particular job.
“For the modules I’d try to give plenty of detail by researching the answers. This gave me a thorough understanding, rather than rushing through the answers.”
Mark Jeffery, branch manager, said: “We’re a team of four here and it’s essential that everyone pulls their weight. Wayne is a valued member of the team and is very capable of taking on any challenge. It’s like having another assistant branch manager! His results were fantastic and I’m very proud of him. His contribution, as part of team here, helped us achieve excellent results last year.”
Plumbase employees can earn rewards for passing their MOL modules depending on the grade. Wayne received £90 for each distinction he gained.
